This project started as a 2008 Ruby on Rails competition called Rails Rumble. There were approximately 150 teams that competed, where we came 75th out of 130 qualified entries. The purpose of Eiga is to allow media enthusiasts the ability to document and share their collection with their friends. It was also an experiment in sourcing key media information from publicly available media databases like the Linked Movie Database using the SPARQL query language.
